About Ashley Cortes

Ashley Cortes is a versatile contemporary R&B singer-songwriter from the San Francisco Bay Area. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Professional Music, specializing in Songwriting, Vocal Performance, and Entrepreneurship. Furthering her education, she earned a Master's degree in Music Business at New York University. During her academic career, she was awarded the Professional Music Entrepreneurial Award at Berklee and the Global Pathways Opportunity Scholarship at NYU. Now based in New York City, Ashley captivates audiences with her soulful performances in English and Tagalog. She showcases velvety vocals and grooving melodies while often self-accompanying on instruments like acoustic guitar, piano, or electric bass. 

 

Committed to fostering inclusivity and representation, she aims to unite people through engaging experiences, particularly within the Filipino community. Ashley has an extensive performance history across the United States and the Philippines. She has opened for and collaborated with legendary Filipino celebrities such as Freddie Aguilar, Manny Pacquiao, Angeline Quinto, Sam Milby, Jose & Wally, Vice Ganda, Lani Misalucha, and Miriam Pantig. Also, she contributed as a featured artist and voice-over actor for Pacha's Pajamas, an Interactive Children's Story, alongside a celebrity cast that includes Mos Def, Cheech Marin, Genevieve Goings and Lester Chambers. Additionally, she has graced the stage at Carnegie Hall twice, showcasing her diverse talents.
